Miyajima

After resting up at the Benten no Yado Itsukushima, we were ready to take a tour of the island.

Here are a few shot taken as we make our way one shopping area leading to Itsukushima Shrine.

Benten no Yado Itsukushima - Miyajima

I'm dedicating this post to the Benten no Yado Itsukushima, the hotel that we had the please of residing for our one night stay in Miyajima. I stayed at a few hotels (or Ryokan), but this was the most memorable.

Hiroshima

I have always had an interest in WWII and the conflicts that took place during the war, so I was glad to be taking my first trip to one of the most history conflicts of the Asian front of the war, Hiroshima.

Honestly I didn't come across this sign until we were about to leave the city, but it has to go first.

Osu(Nagoya)

After a couple days we decided to do something local. We also wanted to shop, so we went to Osu Kannon. It is popular local shopping area in Nagoya, that has everything from electronics to clothes and souvenir shopping.

This is is the temple at Osu. There happened to be a "Yard Sale" type of event that day, so the area around the temple was bustling with shoppers looking at the various items the vendors had for sale.

Takayama

After taking in the onsen at Gero, our next stop was Takayama, another small town in Gifu Prefecture.

When we arrived I noticed this interesting temple of in the distance.




This the souvenir shop just out side the entrance of the Hida Folk Village.

Gero, Japan

So we are heading on our first trip during this 3 week stay in Japan! Gero is a mountain town located about 2 hours north of Nagoya. The city is well known for its natural spring water and plenty of Onsens(public baths).

We start the day with some steady traffic. Back home (Atlanta) we get our share of traffic but I didn't mind this here at all as I was taking in the scenery.

Once we were a ways out of Nagoya the traffic died down. Here are couple shots I took of the 田舎(Inaka - Country side) on the way.
